NIMONA - LEAD MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER
During the course of this project I was responsible for the setup, design and animation of several key assets within the main film. I also managed the technical setup and animation of the main on end credits, building the timeline, setting all the transitions and then assembling all the individual shots to create the final piece. I did a similar task on the official teaser as well.
Sparkle Animations
Whenever Nimona transforms in the film there is a burst of sparkles. I was tasked with designing and animating a number of different versions that could then be used as an asset library for the FX department to add at their will.
Jumbotron
I designed and animated the jumbotron graphics, incorporating advertising, texture and typography with some PIP footage required for each shot where this asset appears. Later in the sequence the graphics all needed to glitch in time with the action in the shot.
Stolen Vehicle: Phaeton
I worked on the design and animation of the user interface in the hover car that Ballister and Nimona steal halfway through the film. This involved having a functional UI with a working display where PIP footage could be displayed.
Security Monitors
These security monitors all needed to glitch (in a style that was in keeping with the art direction for the film) in time with the action for the shot.
Ballister's Computer
Within Ballister's lair, I had the job of designing and animating the interface for his computer. There were several screens which displayed his desktop and a series of web pages that were required to resemble a Youtube style streaming platform.
Main Square ScreensÂ
I implemented the design, animation, and pipeline for the MGFX on all of the screens that appear in the Main Square during this scene with the Shadow Creature. It was a significant undertaking with so many screens across so many shots.
